Family Legacy
After Jim’s passing in 1994 and Richard’s retirement in 2003, Marty and his son Jamey kept the business thriving. Marty and Jamey continue to bring pride and commitment to our company without compromising their work ethic.
Our company was founded in 1967 by Richard James "Jim" Thorpe. He brought his knowledge and experience from his position at Tidewater Oil, where he worked for over 30 years, to this company-- which he founded with his two sons Marty and Richard. Jim Thorpe Oil, now known as Jim Thorpe Inc., began as fuel and oil distributors, supplying small businesses and farms throughout the San Joaquin Valley and beyond.
